About
Builder. Process obsessive. Always curious.
Brandon Lorenz builds digital products. When his approach looks unconventional, it's usually because he went past the standard way of doing things and found one that wastes less.
Process is his obsession. He breaks everyday tasks into their steps and cuts the ones that can go, so the people doing the work carry less.
He never stops learning. He follows the people shaping his tools through their videos, podcasts and blogs, tries what they teach, and keeps what holds up.
He is a former Marine. After 9/11, his Reserve unit, MP Company Alpha out of Lexington, Kentucky, was called up, and he served two combat tours in Iraq from 2003 to 2005. He earned a meritorious promotion to Corporal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his actions in combat firefights.
He co-wrote Hands-On Django: Going Beyond the Polls for O'Reilly, drafting half the book. It never went to print. What he learned writing it still shapes how he builds.
Off the clock, he plays beer-league ice hockey. He isn't the fastest skater. He doesn't have the best shot. His game is grit and determination. He uses both to rob better-skilled players of time, space, and opportunity.
